A subdomain is part of a web address that is under the main domain, for instance name.example.com. From a technical perspective, even in www.example.com the "www" part is a subdomain since the fully qualified domain name is just "example.com". Every single subdomain can have its own web site and records and can even be hosted using a different provider if you wish to use some feature that's not offered by your current provider. An example for using a subdomain is if you have a company site along with an online store under a subdomain where customers can acquire your products. You can even have a forum in which they can discuss the products and by using subdomains as an alternative to subfolders you will avoid any chance of all sites going down if you perform maintenance, or update one of the site scripts. Keeping your sites separated is more secure in the event of a script security breach.

Subdomains in Shared Hosting

Our shared hosting packages will permit you to set up hundreds of subdomains for any domain address hosted inside your account without any difficulty. If the main domain name is added, it will take 2 mouse clicks to set up a subdomain and select what folder it's going to open (if different from the default one), create unique error pages, activate FrontPage Extensions, set a shared IP address or a dedicated one, and more. All subdomains will be conveniently listed in alphabetical order under their main domain for quick access and control. By right-clicking on any one of them and by using instant access buttons you can see the error logs, visitor statistics or site files for that specific subdomain. We haven't set a limit for the amount of subdomains which you can create with any of our plans, so you can have as many as you need.

Subdomains in Semi-dedicated Servers

When you acquire a semi-dedicated server plan, you will be able to create as many subdomains as you would like since this feature is unlimited. For the reason that the hosting packages are very powerful, we have decided not to set any cap on the amount of subdomains. Our advanced Hepsia Control Panel will permit you to create a new subdomain with no more than a couple of clicks, to choose which folder it's going to access inside the account, to enable FrontPage Extensions for it, to set up custom error pages, to create a shared or a dedicated IP address if you have one, and more. To make it easier for you, all of the subdomains will be listed under their root domain, so that you can effortlessly see and handle them. With fast access links, you'll also have the ability to open the site files for each of the subdomains that you have or view its DNS records.
